Hey, My cousin has a 1985 Econoline van, and he wants to put a 32 inch lcd tv in it.
I'm trying to talk him out of it because, I pretty because of the neighborhood he lives in it will get stolen, But I thought I'd check what it would take anyway.
First off, is there special lcds that large for cars, or is it the same as you buy for your home?
Also, what are the extra things needed to properly install it (battery, speakers, converters, etc)?
-Thanks

If you are going to install a tv that is designed for 120v in the home, you need a power inverter.  If he wants to install a TV, consider the other things he wants to hook up to it.  PS3/SBOX 360....ect.  Add up the total power consumption and look for an inverter that powers that amount.  To do so, you'll also have to run a power wire(just like with an amp),  to supply the inverter.  It will probably have to be between 8 and 4 gauge.

Thanks, I'll tell him. I think he is getting a generator for the van also, so he can power all these things up.
