I have no way to get pics. I tested the sub, and it's working...pluged it in to a buddies system. The amp light is staying red....which is protect mode....it should be green......why is it staying in protect???

Chances are it has shorted output transistors. This problem is not something you can see. You initially said the amp was playing at low volume. It will not play at all if it is in protect. The info about the protect light being on would have saved us both a lot of typing.

well I don't know if it is a protect light. I know they normaly are red in protect, and green in on mode. This amp doesn't say that. The red light may just mean it's getting power. Wouldn't it say if it were a protect light? Sorry about that, I could have sworn I said it was on...maybe not

Chances are it is just a power light. I can't think of any MTX amp that has a protection light.
