I was just looking for some opinions on what has been a very informitive tool for myself and friends for building a proper car audio system. I have been reading this website for a while now and thanked my local stereo shop for telling me about it. I have 2 rides and this is what I put in them. My truck currently is complete and my Geo is underway.

1991 Chevy Silverado 3/4ton extended cab

  • Clarion DX585USB head unit
  • 4- Soundstorm 4x6's with bass blockers @ 600hz
  • Phoenix Gold Tantrum 1200.1---1588 RMS @ 4ohm
  • 4- Hertz "12 ES300 subs tuned to 33hz in 1.96 cu.ft. chambers---wired to 4 ohm totalling 1400 RMS
  • Rockford Fosgate Punch 501S---125 RMS x 2 @ 4 ohm
  • 2-Polk/Momo MMC690 6x9's---100RMS each
  • Fusion 1.5 farad cap
  • MTX HTX-V2 2 way crossover
  • 1/0 guage wire

1994 Geo Metro 2 door hatchback

  • Sony Explode CD head unit
  • 2-4" Soundstorm with bass blockers @ 600hz
  • 2- Soundstorm 4x6's with bass blockers @ 600hz
  • Crunch P1500.1---1500 RMS @1 ohm?
  • 2- Polk/Momo "15 MM2154D subs in a sealed 3 cu.ft. box wired to 1 ohm
  • Crunch P1800.4---900 RMS x 2 @ 4 ohm or 225 RMS x 4 @ 4 ohm?
  • 2-Polk/Momo 6x9's-100 RMS each
  • 2-"1 Soundstorm STW20 tweeters
  • Soundstorm 2 farad cap
  • MTX HTX-V2 2 way crossover
  • 4 guage wire

So these are my first systems that I spent a good deal of time planning and building myself. i don't have a lot of money so the components aren't top of the line but sound good for what I'm looking for at this time. I know the Crunch amps don't put out what they claim but calculated the 1500 to really be about 865 @ 1 ohm with 120 amps of fuses on it. Also, the 6x9's are in 1/2 material and I wonder if building them from 3/4 would be any better. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Or maybe I should port the box for the polk/momos in the geo. I really want the geo to hit very hard. Pretty much ridiculous bass coming from such a little car. Cause if I'm sacrificing the looks and the power, then I want to pound!
