If it's running for two seconds and shutting off, it MUST be a tachometer issue.
If it were an issue with the car's anti-theft transponder, it would never start at all.
If the mechanic used voltage sensing instead of a tachometer connection, the car would still run for ten seconds, shut off, and then start again.
Ask your mechanic where he connected his tachometer wire.
If he connected to a fuel injector or ignition coil on top of the engine, that could be the problem. Audiovox products don't like Toyota injector wires.
He should use the tachometer wire at the instrument cluster in the dashboard.
All he has to do is take off the black plastic frame around the instrument cluster. The wires stick out from the top, and it's not necessary to even take the cluster out of the car.
The correct tachometer wire is the first black wire from the left.
When he's done, he should also re-program the remote starter's tachometer rate.
