98 ford explorer/viper 300 esp

Hello all. I've used the search function to no avail so I decided to post here. My alarm isn't making any sounds when I engage or disengage it however the keyless entry works just fine. The LED stays turned on whenever the car off and will shut off when I start it. I tried removing the fuses and putting them back in but it did not remedy the issue. I also pulled the negative wire hoping it would reset the alarm but again to no avail. This alarm isn't like other alarms I have use as it doesn't have a toggle switch I could play with to turn the alarm on/off - instead I found a black button that I have no idea what to do with. Any ideas?if heaven had a height, you would be that tall

sounds like Valet mode. try pushing lock then unlock one after the other with the door open. or, turn on the ignition and push the button you found, once and quickly and the light should turn off and you will hear the chirps again when you lock/unlock after that.

Thank you guys ckeeler and robertsc for such a quick response! I tried do the quick button push option and tried several times and it did not work! However, the first option you gave me was key, the door needed to be open, I tried going 'lock, unlock, lock' as robertsc suggested but it did not work for me. I tried several times going very slowly. I got impatient thinking that this wasn't going to work for me so I just kept engaging and disengaging it and it worked!
