This question pertains to late model Chrysler products with PWM headlamps..

When changing to HID I have seen several methods to provide a good power source to the ballast and fool the vehicles "lamp out" warning-

  • separate harness, relay  and one capacitor 470uf 35v at the relay
  • separate harness, relay and a resistor at the trigger
  • 2200uf 35v capacitor on each ballast input

What is your prefrence and why?

every single car is different and it all depends on the voltage. 99% of the time on audi vw chrysler and a few other makes u can use 4700uf 25v electrolytic caps in parallel to the power supply to the ballast. on cars like beemers u need resistors n relays on each side of the car. th resistors at like light bulbs....it tells the car that theres a bulb there....but in turn its really turning on a relay resistors, capacitors and or relay? -- posted image.
