low level relay wiring

I have no idea what kind of output your trunk pop requires.  But I can tell you how a relay works.  Terminal 85 and 86 are the connections of the coil of the relay.  If you ground terminal 85 and apply positive voltage on 86, the relay will energize.  If your device puts out a low current ground, you need to apply constant voltage to 86 and your alarm output to 85.

When the relay is at rest, terminal 30 is connected to terminal 87a.  When the relay is energized, terminal 30 is now connected to terminal 87.  If your trunk pop requires power to activate,  You need to apply constant power to 30 and connect 87 to the actuator.   If it requires ground to activate the release, you need to ground teminal 30, and still connect 87 to the actuator.
