i have a 2004 Mini cooper S, manual transmission.
im looking to get a 2 way viper alarm, with remote start since im going to be running a CarPuter, and id like to be able to start it a minute early so its booted by the time i get to the car.
now, i have the 791xv on my explorer and ive never had a problem, ive read nothing but good reviews on the 5900, but im thinking about getting the 5901 with the new remote, etc. also, the 5901 already comes with a remote start clutch bypass "safety" thing right, where as the 5900 i'd have to buy a clutch bypass for it? also the 5901 comes with a 2nd regular remote which would be nice to have.
as far as that goes, ive read some good, and bad reviews. i think the bad reviews were from the earlier alarms when they were first released. i want to order the alarm within the next few days, and im going to have a dealer install it for me for a good price (hes authorized to install them) and hes gonna sorta do it on the side for me, so he said just get the alarm and bring it to him.
is it safe to order either one of the alarms from www......com? ive bought from them before and had good service, just want to know if anyone has bought alarms from there before.

I can almost guarantee that you will have some problems with the remotes not working properly. Ask the installer if he's willing to work on it again if something goes wrong.
