Hi everyone, newbee here. I currently have a 99 Chevy Silverado xcab Z-71 (auto w/5.3), looking for a 2 way remote system. The Viper 5900 sst was recommend along with a crime stopper 2014 dp by a local who sells them, he says just as good as a viper 5900 and has a mile rang as well but comes with two remotes but i'm suspicious as I never heard of the Crime Stopper and it sells for around $70 less on the net. I can order anything on the net and he will install for $145. I also heard good things on the clifford g4 and a ravelco ?(sp). My little bro likes the Derringer but I think there out of biz. Don't really want to pay more than $200 on the net for the alarm alone, i will pay extra for the bypass module. What do you guys recommend.

Thanks for the help

Andre

Clifford G4 hasn't been made for about 3 years, Crimestopper has a poor reputation and $145 is too cheap!

ok thanks, i think it's between the viper 5900 for $174 or sniper x2rs for.....? i take it Sniper is only through the factory, and what is the range on the x2 remote starter. No doubt the x2 is more $ but is it worth the extra $?

I think someone's selling the Sniper over here, it's a real "cheap and nasty" by the look of it.
