Sounds more like a alternator problem than a battery.

Lot of the newer GM have a loose connector on the main power fuse 100 amp near battery.

The battery is easy to change. The ECM sits on top of it and slides off. There is a plastic cover that locks over top the battery. Release the hook clips holding it and voila, you will see the battery. As mentioned, if the lights dim while the engine is running, the problem is with the alternator. The battery is only really designed to start the engine. Ideally, check the whole charging system and all connections. The battery may no longer be any good, if it hasn't been properly recharging.
