15 sub goes in and out

The 15" sub on my boat stops playing at various times and i am trying to figure out what the problem could be? I had my boat beached and noticed the sub stopped playing. I have (4) Odysseus 2150 batteries so I know I had plenty of power. The sub is connected to an arc audio sub amp. I checked the connections and everything was hooked up. This has happened in the past where it will just stop playing. About 1/2 hour later it stated playing again. I thought about a lose wire but all the connections looked fine. Are there are any tests I could do to rule out what is or is not? Kenwood head unit, Dreadnaught 15" sub, Arc Audio Sub-Amp,

Are you telling us or asking us? Overheating, inadequate power, voltage too high, voltage too low, impedance too low, bad power connection somewhere... Ummm, what else... OH! The amp could be just plain defective. Always a possibility. What have YOU done to troubleshoot the issue? All we can tell for sure is that you looked at the connections, and that they LOOKED fine. You have to be our eyes and hands... We can't teleport to your boat to actually do the work.It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

is the amp rated for marine use? could have some corrosion on the inside of the amp or inside the subs.

I was asking for ideas on how to troubleshoot. Sorry I did not make that clear. Thanks for the input, all the items suggested are beyond my technical expertise. The amp and sub are not marine grade. I have not done much to troubleshoot cause I don't know what to do. I have since moved from the shop that did that original install. I will probably take it to a local stereo shop.

Excellent choice.  I love to see people that are not sure do exactly what you are doing : let a professional (hopefully) do it right for you :)

since its not marine grade then its probably corroded or rusted on the inside.
