09 corolla wont start below 25 degrees

Hello all!

Not sure where the problem lies for me but I have installed about 5,000 remote starts on various different vehicles without any repeat issues like this. The 09 corolla is totally different from previous years but the install follows all diagrams and works perfect when the car is warm or its above 25 degrees or so. I've tried voltage and tach and both are trouble. It doesnt seem to be related to the bypass (556u) because it will start 100 times in a row if its warm out. I'm totally mind boggled on this one and dont want to have to give the customer a refund and take it out. Anyone have any suggestions? BTW also put new brain in and same issue so it isnt the unit.

It could very well be a by-pass issue, at extreme cold temperatures, as well as a R/S issue in the same. There may be a problem with the components used in manufacturing operating properly, again at extreme cold temperatures.

A trick I read about on here is to take the key on a warm day and put it in a freezer for a while.  Once the key is "frozen" put it back in the 556U and try to start the car.

If the problem is related to the bypass this should cause the car to not start.  You can then reposition your ring until you get the system to start.

Automotive spec devices should have tolerences down to ~ -40 degrees C - 25F is nowhere near cold enough to cause the electronics themselves to quit working.

ive done this vehicle numerous times with the xk05 with no problems maybe you could get your hands on one of these
