Hey guys I have a few questions about my recent install.
I have a 97 Lexus SC300 with the stock Pioneer amp/cd changer. Today I installed a Pioneer Avic-F700BT and I decided to use the headunit to power the speakers instead of using the OEM stock amp because I keep getting crazy alternator whine no matter what I do, but that is besides the point.
The issue I'm having right now is everytime I hit a bump I get a static sound through my speakers, I think its a grounding issue but I'm not sure. I have the headunit ground, Mute and parking brake all grounded to the passengers kick panel. I sanded the spot to silver metal and used a 10mm screw to secure it. All wire connections are soldered then covered in shrink tube.
Do I need to ground these separate, run the ground somewhere else??? What do you guys suggest?

sounds like the ground is good but make sure the speaker connectors are not hitting the base where the speaker is held down. I had that happen and do the same thing so you might was to check. good luck

http://bcae1.com/images/rca/temporaryrcashieldrepair.html   Perform the test at the top of the preceeding page.  This may be why you were having engine noise problems in the beginning.

For your new problem, you will have to determine which component has the loose connection.   Remove the radio and hit the case of it.
