Iam installing a Commando 520-S car alarm on a 1993 Isuzu Rodeo.
[online install manual]
http://www.commandocaralarms.com/manuals/520-smanual.pdf
I am having problems with the keyless entry...
I *think* its a 3-wire neg system.
Btw this is my first alarm install ever
=Some car info=
When you lock/unlock the drivers door with the key it will lock/unlock all four doors. If say the passenger door is open while the doors are being locked from the drivers side, the passenger door unlock when the door shuts (Not sure if that matters)
I am using two of the three wires in the dash coming from the drivers door lock.
One wire lights my testlight when the doors are locked only, while the other lights the test light when the doors are unlocked only. I spliced into each wire to connect one of the -200ma lock/unlock triggers to it.
(third wire is always ground)
Press the Unlock or Lock button and... Nothing happens.
After messing with this for a few hours I discovered something odd. If I disconnect the driver's door wire harness (there is a wire harness between the actuator and the rest of the car) (has only those three wires) The keyless entry works, but only on the three connected doors. Also when disconnected there is a change is what lights my test light. Two of the three wires light the testlight ALL the time. (the ground is still a ground)
Any ideas? (btw iam using NO relays in this process)
Plz dont show me diagrams, I have no idea how to read them.
-Thanks for any help!

yes you have to add a motor to the drivers door and yes you will need relays.
its pretty simple to do.

Sorry! I was in the middle of writing that post, closed the browser had no idea it actually posted.
I really dont think I need an actuator in the drivers door because there is something in there that looks like one, but it may just be the linkage and trigger for the doors. Ill try to get pictures.
I will need to add to my buy list a universal door lock motor and two relays correct? Can I pick this up at a local store or am I best off buying it from the same company I bought the alarm from online? [www.commmandocarlarms.com]
FYI it may be a week or two before I can start on this again.
Oh yeah I am a little fuzzy about relays, I know there is a electromagnet [85-86] that throws a switch [30-87|87a] but iam not sure what goes where. Will I need to run a 12v wire into my door, or is there a common place to splice into in a door?
Thanks for all your help!
PS the alarm system uses -200ma lock/unlock pulses
