I was wondering if I could get some glue recommendations from the pro's out there. I recently covered a box i built in vinyl. I used 3m super 77 adhesive and after being out in the sun the corners are coming undone. I don't have a gun so I need something in a spray can. Also can you guys let me in on the best way to do sharp corners with vinyl. Thanks!

use contact cement. if you dont have a gun to spray it just use a disposable brush and brush the box and back of the vinyl.

X 2 what ckeeler said, as far as sharp corners with vinyl your fighting a loosing battle always round the coners when covering with vinyl.

x3 for contact cement. Much better hold and cheaper then the 3M junk.

"Sharp Corners" will depend on what you mean... do you mean a sharp angle corner? or a non-rounded corner? A heat gun and some patience (and a fair amount of practice) will get the first one done without getting elephant skinning if it is a non rounded corner.

Use an edge of the box to help hide a seam. Cut the vinyl to meet the edge at a 45* angle out from the box and cut the other side to do the same and meet at the edge. a clean cut will have little to no noticability to it. For further support, I like to use a VERY careful application (in the smallest of amounts, ie a size 00 or 000 artist brush) of cyano acrylate (superglue) on the inside of the seaming area to seal the edges together.

An alternative to this that I have heard from a fellow fabricator (but I have yet to do) is to get that fabric mender glue that Billy Mayes pitches. He said it is good stuff.
