I have had an avic D1 installed in my 01 explorer sport for a few months now and have basically just delt with the issues I have had with it. The D1 was used when I purchased it and i believe that someone had messed with the wiring so I need some help getting everything straightened out.
First i would like to know how to correct the wiring so everything works. It seems as if the parking brake hack had been tried but I still get the warnings that pop up when I turn the unit on and change to the video or gps mode. I believe that those shouldn't pop up if the hack was done correctly. So if someone could tell me which of my wired need to be connected or added to the empty slots and grounded it would be appreciated.
Second I would like to know what wire in my explorer needs to be hooked up to which wire of the avic harness for the vss to improve the gps.
finally, the direction that the gps shows that I am traveling slowly rotates as I drive so it always, messed up the directions since it tries to reroute me in the direction it believes im going. Is this something that could be messed up from bad wiring? or is there something permanently wrong with the gyro or something.

Here is how the harness currently is:
top: Purp, purp/blck, green, pink, (empty), l ight green, red, (empty), yellow, black
bot: gray, gray/black, white, WHITE/ black, blue/white, (empty), Pink/white, (empty), black, black
Thanks for any help

cant tell you how to do a video bypass. you can do a google search to find out where to add that pin thats how i found out. and your positioning problem could be the speed sense wire isnt hooked up right or your gps antenna is going bad
