nay, $2000 will easily get you in the 150's if you dont mind the look of a basic install. i wish somebody would give me $5000 to make'em an SPL setup.

140db in any form is literally deafening.  You can't drive around with a car hitting those kind of numbers and still hear.  :)

your right, it aint easy. you cant just go out and buy random equipment and expect to hit 150. but if you know a little bit about what you are doing, its not that hard to do. anyone can hit 150 in a daily driver if they have the space for the equipment, the knowledge of how to use the equipment, and some cash to buy the equipment.

for sure 150 is easy enough if you have enough equipment and knowledge. im doin nearly 150 out of the trunk with a prefab box.

all these db posts.      With the equipment you have, you can achieve 140DB.    Really it would be achivible with maybe a stronger amp and a better box.
Find a shop that has a Term-Lab meter, only realy meter to go by, and start from there.
Your I phone will tell you nothing.

Maybe he can change the db by the way the box is setup in the car. If the subs are face back change it to facing towards the front or facing up. I seen that alot of times in cars. Just to let you know 150 is very hard to hit but can been done with spending $2000 if you know what to get and have a lot of know how and the right car to put it in.
Can't be loud then don't have it.
