This may be a dumb question, but I am new to making fiberglass enclosures. I've been reading quite a few tutorials, and am just wondering what holds the fiberglass to the mdf board. Does it just stick? Do you fiberglass the over the mdf base? What holds the rings up, just the dowel which is hot glued? or does the resin stick to the mdf? I appreciate your help, thanks.

If you've never used fiberglass i understand your questions.
1. The resin will stick to almost anything and will become hard if layer...as hard if not harder than the wood itself (resin and fiberglass).
2. The fiberglass layer is ultimately holding your woofers, the dowels are to hold the rings on place while the fleece and fiberglass dry.

ok thanks. So there is no need to fiberglass the mdf base? Should I fold the matting onto the bottom?

Yes, FOLD the fleece and staple it on the underside of the enclosure.

But doing so will seal the wood better for cleaner air control (not required but helpful) ^-^v
