does that name ring any bells? i have a 1996 crown victoria base. i decided to start tearing into the dash to relocate my hvac controls and install my cd player in that opening. when i removed the hvac controls i noticed a black box sitting in my dash. i cannot find a serial number on it but then again, i cant pull it all the out from where it is. eventually im going to drop the under part of the dash to get to it but im trying to find info on reconnecting it and using it. so far the only lead ive found says it could be a generic alarm from Omega Systems. ive emailed that company to get info but have not received anything back.
the car car did come with any remotes and as far as i can tell, the siren, led/valet button, and the actual unit are all still completely wired. just no power to it.

You can see that the power is disconnected...? Might be a bad unit...or previous owner did not have remotes and had it de-activated...Could you be a little more specific on the brain...Where did you find that name...? What does the brain look like...? What does the harness look like(females plugged into male spades on brain...?, typical 5-15 pin harness...?) How many harnesses...Colors and thickness...?

i assume the power is disconnected sense the led does not blink on the dash. i found the name on the top of it. i plan on pulling the brain out tomorrow to get all of the information off of it. from what i could see it is a square brain with theft avert written on top and a diagram on the back. the connectors are to the left and on top of the brain. the left side has 2 push in types and a long harness type of plug. i cant make out the top wires but i believe it is also a harness.
i have no way of getting ahold of the previous owners of the car but as soon as i get the rest out ill post what i find. sure would be nice just to be able to reconnect it and get a remote from ebay.

Well...You might just want to save your money and put another system in...Lets say that unit was installed in 96...13 Yrs old now...I would save money and time...and probably certain frustration and look into another unit IMO...Should be able to see if it will at least come In and Out of Valet Mode or respond at all once it gets power! I guess if you can find a remote cheap go for it...Any info on the siren...?

i saw that same remote and one on ebay that actually has theft avert on it. the siren itself is still hooked up. i traced the wires from the siren all the way into the brain. that was the easyest wire to follow.
also im not so sure it was installed in 1996. its not a factory alarm at least not according to ford.
ill take pictures tomorrow as i tear into it. hopefully getting it in and out of valet is pretty easy.
