Hey,
right now i got a Clarion 10" 4ohms with a Pioneer GM-D7400 amp. Im about to buy a Alpine sub SWR-1042D that will run in 2 ohms. But i want to know if the 12" (SWR-1242D) will REALLY hit harder than the 10" in a Ported box? (10" 1.4cu - 12" 1.9cu)

wont hit much harder than a 10. it's a difference of about 35 square inches of cone area from the 10 to the 12 so i dont think you would REALLY notice a huge difference.

IMO it depends on the design of the enclosure whether the 10 is louder or not.

very true, but this is an "all things being the same" type of situation.
