ok, here's the problem.  i'm building a hot rod i'm using a column by flaming river and a wiring kit from keep it clean.  For the rear tail lights i have three wires from the kit, brake, turn, and running.  the problem is i only have 2 wires on the led tailights running and brake.  So how can i build a relay to flash the high intensity side along with the keeping the brake function?  The wire kit already has a flasher built in, will this one work or do i need an electronic one?

If your parking lights were on all of the time, such as on a motorcycle, since you probably do not ride with your parking lights on in the daytime, this may take a couple relays.  I can draw you a diagram tonight.

At the bottom of this page is how it is done if parking lights are on all the time, there will ba an additional wire on this relay and an additional relay in your diagram.  you would also need to substitute brake wire of your vehicle where it says parking light hot on the diagram.  Which light do you want to use as the blinker, the running light or the brake light?  Are you  using the brighter of the 2 as the brake light?

seems to work fine although i haven't tested the turn signal since the column is not wired up, but i was thinking if i have standard bulbs in the front then when i use the turn lights they will flash opposite times from eachother.  unless i use a similar relay for the front lights as well.

What would be the concern of timing if the car that needs the info can only see one set of the lights?

ok, i hooked up the column here's what i get, when haz are on i get solid lights, when brake is pressed the and i activate the turn signal the light shuts off, and when i activate the turn signal with no brake nothing happens.  I'm getting no flash from the flasher.  Is this because the relay setup draws to little currents to make the flasher flash.  Maybe load resistor might help?  I thought they were only for hyper flash or burnt bulb indicator.   Any suggestions.

I missed your question in the initial post about, will need to get a different flasher. Yes you may need to get a solid state flasher. The resistor will work, the only thing there is the extra heat, you will have to mount it to a heat sink of some sort.
Your easiest out will be the new flasher. Sorry I missed that.
