or jump the plug at the ignition harness and power up the window system ( probably an orange, or brown heavy gauge wire). then you can just use the switch.

I would go with this method too. I think it is the orange wire you will have to give power to. It sounds like you already have the ignition switch unplugged, so this should be easy to do. I believe it is the orange wire you will need to provide power to. You can use either the red or RED / white wire in the ignition plug for power.
