Hello from New Zealand

Ok so I'm a student on a budget and I bought this Chinese alarm called a steelmate 838 and a seperate central locking system from a site like ebay here in NZ.

All good so far, I bought a stereo from there aswell and installed it in my 91 Honda civic hatch no problem at all.
But I figure this central lock and alarm install might be a little trickier 91 honda civic hatch alarm , central lock -- posted image.
No worries, I have a dozen beers, some choice music and 2 days to do it before I need to actually drive my car.
Here are the instructions and as you can see they are O.K but only if you can translate their real meaning. The first two pics are from the alarm.

and the wiring info for the 91 civic is:

What I'd like some help from you awesome people with is:
I dont have to hook the alarm "brain" up to the battery do I? I can just hook it into the 12V constant by the fuse box ( both the brain +12v and the central lock +12v so these two 2 wires onto the white +12V?

I hook the white and brown wires from the central lock system into the white and WHITE/ black wires of the alarm "brain" and the yellow and yellow/black wires of the "brain" to a decent ground?

The RED / black wire from the "brain" goes to the trunk sensor?
What the hell is the BLUE wire from the brain for? it says "car door, switch of engine top, activating negative" is this the door trigger wire? if so I can follow that from the other posts here.
I dont need the orange foot brake wire right?
I'm not going to bother with the shock sensor, is that sensible?
For wiring in the relay:
I cut the starter wire and join the green 87a wire to the key side and the green 30 wire to the other side?
The red86 wire joins to the yellow wire from the brain.
the yellow 85 wire from the relay goes to the "key on" or ignition  wire?

The other white wire from the brain goes to the ignition? it says "lock head, key on" position

The rest seems pretty straight forward as far as running wires, installing it tidily etc etc
Am I on the right track?
Thanks in advance!! 91 honda civic hatch alarm , central lock -- posted image. 91 honda civic hatch alarm , central lock -- posted image. 91 honda civic hatch alarm , central lock -- posted image. 91 honda civic hatch alarm , central lock -- posted image.

The diagrammes didin't come out but yes everything you said is correct, except turn 86 and 85 round, place a diode across them with band towards the ignition side, that's the white you mentioned, goes to the BLACK / YELLOW (ign) on the car, blue is door contact although those sliding honda contacts are probably well knackerred by now.  So yes you are on the right track with everything you asked.  Don't start a sentence with OK unless you're answering a question.

Thanks mate

Why are you recommending I turn the 85 & 86 around? please tell me what the diode is for? maybe I didn't mention but this relay is sealed inside a plastic box.

There is a seperate white wire from the brain, and that goes to the blk / YELLOW ign wire as well as the other relay wire right?

Cheers

The standard convention is coil + side, 86; - side, 85 with 30 in and 87 out. It doesn't really matter but you might as well start right. The diode is to prevent feed back (called onrush when the relay switches mode) going back to the alarm and ruining the circuitry.  Better alarms are internally protected, I wouldn't assume it with that load of junk you're fitting.  Diode band towards pos side of coil, before internal protection, quality product preinstalled the diode across the relay for you.
