I've been away from car audio for a few years, so I need to get caught up.

I'm replacing my factory system in my G8. All I know is I'm going to use the JL Cleansweep and Boston component 6.5"Z's in all four doors. I like ear bleeding loud and I have experience with these.

I don't know about the amps now though. I push my Boston's in my truck with a JL 300/4. I was thinking of using another one of those for the four Bostons and getting a JL 1000/1 for the subs. Then I looked at some Rockford amps in the T600-4 and T1000. Does Rockford still make good amps? They are def cheaper than the JL's but if they are just as good I don't want to waste my money.

Also, I can get a good deal on 2 kicker 12" L5's. Anybody have any idea how these perform?

Are you going for SPL or sound quality for your subs?

Going for SPL all the way around.

Also, does US amps and Zapco still make good stuff? Noticed it appeared to be cheaper than I remember.

So you're going for a ported box..? Or how much room are you willing to give up in your trunk?

Yes, ported box. I'm looking at a kicker combo in a kicker box, 2 12" L5s.

I know that 2 C3 12" and 1100w amp in a ported box from Memphis would hit 140.db up to 145 db in that car

You would get spl and sound Q
