Is there anything else that would cause engine noise through the speakers other then direct hook to alternator or bare speaker wire or rca cables? Could the noise be coming directly through the amp ? The ground is good great connection to the frame . Speaker wires are new also new rca cables.

The stereo is new also Kenwood head unit memphis 6020c in door and alpine 5 1/4in back. I ran 12 gauge stinger pro wire through out the truck . And use streetwire rca cables. only about 8 foot of 4 gauge power supply from the battery to the bus where it tees off with 8 gauge to supply the 2 amps. coustic pro logic c200 4 x 50 rms for speakers .Or should Ihave went with the alpine mrd f-300? Also running mtx 600xd to push the sub. I was wondering if I should have went with the rockford fostgate punch p300 instead . I know what kind of power these thing say but saome times quality sound is better then loud noise . What do you all think?

LOL... I went back to the shop made them give me the alpine and rockford p300 in exchange for that mtx and the coustic. The engine noise stopped when put in the alpine. But,..lol I could not fade or balance the sound. I just bought the kenwood from them 2 weeks ago. The rca hook up for all channels was bad??? Anyway swapped head units and wolllaaa!!! all problems fixed. Now my only problem will be figuring out if this sub is going to sound good in a box that has .31 less air space then it needs.

If it's a sealed box it has a +- 10% margin that it can be and the sub will still perform well.

Nice going....Spot ON!...15 years ago, Coustic failed playing Metallica when Lars hit the double bass on "and justice for all". I lost 2-SVC JL 12's along with that 150w amp. In those days we're talking.....SYSTEM_FAILURE!
This is what I do for FUN!
