Hello I have been looking around and have narrowed my decision. I am looking at the 2-Hifonics Bxi2010d, or one Orion Hcca-D5000. it is going to be powering 2 Orion Hcca 12.2 or 12.4 depending on amp choice. box is going to be ported. not sure how many cubes but thinking about 2.5 per chamber 38 hz. it is going in a 1999 ford ranger ext cab.
Also I am looking at getting a 220 amp alternator and kinetic khc1800. If i got one would i Need the other or would both be necessary off the bat. stock alt is 100 amps.
I am looking for Spl Over SQ and box is going to be same whether either amp.
suggestions welcome. thanks
BTW, Great Forum lots of knowledge here.
any more Q's just post.

personal opinion... dont go with the hifonics.    i know youre gonna be spending more on the orion but it would be well worth it.    the hifonics gives RMS ratings at 1.5,  2.5,  and 4.5 ohms(as aposed to 1, 2, and 4 ohms)    so youre really not goin to know exactly what kind of power youre goin to get unless you wire youre subs in a strange method to achieve a 1.5,  2.5,  or  4.5 load.              you might want to wait and get a few peoples inputs before you just make a decision but i have a feeling that you will get the same responses from others.    hope that helps.   good luck
