I had an old prostart 3300 installed in my '99 Toyota tercel which never worked because the tercel only had 1/2 a tech signal. When they came out with the new 3271 with the smart tach (no tach wire) I baught it right away. The wireing diagram on the new one seemed the same so I simply unplugged the old one and plugged the new one in. It worked great for about a week then blam ... the only way it works now is to put the fob right up to the antenna. I've changed the battery in the fob (twice just incase) and I changed the wire for the antenna.

what have I missed ...

any help would be great.

it is either the antennae or the remote i have put 30 or more in and have had a dozen bad antenna's so i would get new one and try that first
