I purchased a used 94 ford bronco and digging around under the dash, there is a poorly installed sidewinder 3500 ESP. I do not have the clicker for it either. I am thinking this is just a remote start. SO I am trying to figure out the best course of action. Is this just a remote start or is it an alarm as well? Can one buy a clicker and program it to this unit? If I buy a new brain and clicker can I plug it into current wiring (clean it up of course). Or should I just yank the whole thing out? If its just a remote start I dont have much desire for it. Its been 5-6 years since I have installed an alarm but I do understand wiring. Most wires are just tapped into I am thinking some like the starter selonoid wire gets cut and relays get installed please refresh my memory. If I buy an alarm can I sue some of the current wiring? Thanks for your time.

I don't reuse any previous work. I don't care if the installer that did it, is the "best" installer in the world. I start from scratch. The 3500 is just a remote start anyways, so If you are looking for security, then I would just buy a whole new unit and use the new harnesses that come with it.

Thanks for clearing up what the unit is. I think I will remove and decide if I want to install an alarm.
