hey guys i have a alternator from a 86 deville 4.1 engine its a hi output 250a and my cars tranni died so i got a 93 deville 4.9 engine and i want to know if it will fit. the bolt pattern is the same however i wanted to know i should have any problem. the 86 stock is 120a stock and a 93 is 140a stock. any suggestiopns would help

As they are both GM, if the control cables fit, and you have physical space, you should be OK. I'm not an auto electrician, but the operative phrase here is "SHOULD be OK"...

Ok thanks I check autozone and they had a alternator for one year 866 for example and the cut off date was 88. But that was for a stock alternator. I might go out there and throw it in and see what happens lol.

I went to the shop one told me to use the the 2 side bolts and not use the third. Another told me to rebuild it. I thinking of getting a custom bracket for the third what you think

So here's the update I got to the shop that made the alt he turned it for me all bolts lined up but the third. Is it safe to not use the third or get a bracket made for it. Suggestions
