Has anyone here heard the Kenwood Excelon 12" Shallow Mount subs? I've read some reviews and the one guy said that just one sounds like a 15 from distance, but he was also pushing 600 rms to it... 250 more than it's supposed to handle...
I'm looking at getting this set of equipment...

Not sure the difference between this and the KFC-WS12? Anyone know?
And I'm going to push it with this amp...

I'm eventually going to get 2 and push 600 rms to both. I found this box to put them in...

So I'll get the benefit from the ported enclosure.
Let me know what you think please! And anything about what you've had experience in real life with the amp or subs. Thanks!

If you have room for a conventional style woofer, get one.

The 1200f is a flat driver and 12wf is a regular driver - deeper mount.  A twelve sounding like a fifteen from a distance means what?   Most flat drivers sound similar to the one size smaller regular driver.  Yes they sound good.

The 12 sounding like a 15 means it's loud. But he was overpowering the sub by 250 rms. And the amp I'm looking at, I've heard has had problems with shutting off if the gain is above 50%...

You don't want to over power any sub or speaker. That could cause serious damage to both the amp and the subs. My suggestion is to find an amp that fits the power rating of your subs better.

i'm currently running a single kenwood 10" shallow mount sub in my avalanche and it sounds good.  I do agree with "i am an idiot" and that if you have room for a conventional size sub run it.  But if you have no other choice then the shallow mount subs will get you some bass and make it sound good.
