my b+ wire is on the blue/red on the ignition column.if it was a sleeper the lock wouldnt even work.

This is NOT recomended for several reasons... the first and most important is it's fuse protection... 20 amps only.

Do as Howie suggested.

According to Directechs, the blue/red is fused at 2 amps. Not a good idea to use it. That is not what is causing your problem here though.
Try this...
Roll down drivers window, close all doors and lock the truck. Wait at least an hour, then reach in through the window and hit unlock on the drivers door switch. Does the truck unlock? My guess is it won't. The truck probably shuts down that circuit so a thief can not reach in through the window with a coat hanger and hit the unlock. You need to wake up the circuit when you pulse unlock.
I have never done this truck. I have been out of the industry for a couple years. My best guess is you will need to pulse either the drivers door pin when unlocking, or possibly the ignition wire. You will probably need to turn on double pulse unlock too.
Sounds like you may have a base model Ram. Does it have the OEM alarm? If not, I would probably just hook up the Factory Alarm Disarm output of the keyless unit to the drivers door trigger wire. If it doesn't have a FAD, then I would have the unlock output trigger 2 relays. One relay to pulse the unlock wire, the other to pulse the drivers door pin wire. If you have the OEM alarm, then things get more complicated.

alright i have made connections to the battery on this thing and still the same result... lock only with no unlock. ive also tried to trick the instrument cluster by pulsing the door ajar circuit and it unlocked but had no lock and it made the switch on the door only unlock the doors but in the incorrect position.

I would physically check the unlock resistor. They're prone to breaking when stressed since they're designed for mounting in a PC board and not with fairly heavy wires pulling on them.
I get around this by using part of a plastic cable tie alongside the connection for reinforcement when I tape it.

This wont help yoor problem...Just a comment about the resistors...I will use the insulation i have stripped from the wires while prepping the alarm...I then slide them on each leg of the resistor for protection...Just something i thought i would share...

ok ive figured out the fix for this problem.......its just one relay and 5 wires.. b+ on 87 and 86 (-) trigger to 85  cut door unlock wire  and put vehicle side to 87a and motor side to 30.. this goes around the cluster for operation of the instrument cluster.
