From what i briefly read you can do it...Just have to mount GPS antenna...Is there some reason why you want factory nav...Instead of aftermarket...A quick look at pricing was $500 and up on ebay...And $1500 for a brand new unit...They are saying something about lux/no lux...I dont know what/if it is compatible...  http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cfm?specials=1...For factory... And a plethra of aftermarket...

It can be done but you need some stuff. Besides the nav, you need the gps antenna which mounts in the defrost cowl. You need the brown plug(which usually doesn't exist) because this has the VSS wire in it(which you can run down to the junction block  left of the column, it's GREEN / WHITE on the back). Also, you will find the volume is low due to the fact the factory nav runs with an amp. What we do is install two small(brick size amps that have high level inputs behind the radio(front and rear) to boost the level a bit. Done it a dozen times and is not hard at all. Make sure the Nav is not been installed in another truck once or it will be theftlocked. This will require a trip to the dealer for a TECH2 connection...

those portable systems i linked to, My friend used them.
They came with mounting hardware and his is LOUD, has to turn it to about half volume or your ears will bleed when it goes
'DINGGGG' turn right in 400ft
So it might just be the brand or something that has you under the impression of it being quiet.
