Ok so I'm pretty sure I found the panel you are talking about. I haven't removed it yet, but I'll try and do that in a few if I'm not too drunk to. Today's just been a bit of a stressful day and I'm alleviating that with some white russians. The Dude Abides. Anyway. I'll get the panel off and then what?

And please note if you look carefully you wil see the colours  i mentioned coming off the head unit, note the white which triggers both the amp and the antenna, also, ignore the WHITE/ brown, it's used for phone mute with original head unit. you're looking at a 10amp fuse on the amp fed by the 30 amp contol fuse in a fuse/box processor ( controls body functions such as locks and windows) under rear seat. Please note although you ignored it I was also right about the speaker colours from the head unit. Think there might be a BLACK/ grey or a BLACK/ white also in there, that's your VSS. Just check power supply, ground and switching inc that 10amp fuse when you find the amp.

I didn't ignore it, there are just a lot of wires back there and I figured you were just generalizing. I'm sorry if I offended you. Thank you for all your help. I am looking into the amp today.

That's OK, the point was no need to by-pass the factory amp if it's working OK, just connect the white to your remote amp/antenna feed. It's just that UK spec vehicles never got the amp till the next model, 98?  But specs obviously differ...buy a Saturn Astra and it could be made in Korea, the UK, Belgium, Germany or from next year Russia.

Oh, alright, I'll dig that up. Do you mean the white cable that goes into the main plug, that my adapter goes into? That white cable goes to the blue power antenna port, which I plugged into the corresponding power antenna cable on my new deck, but it's still not working. I'll take a look again and double check that I did it right. Would it work if I just wired that white into the yellow power cable?

Ok! I got it working, Thank you all so much for your help. Especially 91stt for the wiring diagram, I pored over it for a few minutes and figured out what to do. It was the white cable as previously mentioned, but instead of plugging it into the antenna power cable, I wired it up with the remote acc cable, and it worked that way. It did not work when plugged into the power antenna cable for some reason, even though there is a antenna amplifier in the car that probably runs off that cable. Anyway, thanks again!
