The truck does have passlock II and you do need to bypass it. There are ways to bypass it with resistors and a relay, if you do a search through the forum you will find several posts about it. I suggest using a GMBP. Very simple installation.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

The passlock system, is a factory installed anti-theft detterent which endeavours to prevent undesirable persons from starting you vehicle! In short, to prevent you truck from being hotwired and driven away!does my truck have passloc? - Last Post -- posted image.

I can live without it. Can I just cut power to it and disable it?

you cant bypass a passlock system that way. the first thing to do is to identify the passlock wires. have you found them yet?

Your truck relies on resisted values seen when the key is inserted, there is no way to disable it. Stop being cheap and purchase a bypass(do it right)...

you can bypass it mike, i do not recommend bypasing it fully as a) it makes your vehicle vulnerable to theft and b) if said bypass failed you would be stranded with not even key starting capability, just get an interface( audiovox as-gm4, d.e.i. 556l,bypass kits gmbp or similar, same basic work as bypassing it and it will only be bypassed for remote start not fully therefore maintaining factory security prescence)
