jvc kd ahd59 needed

I installed a kd-ahd59 JVC head unit into my 1988 BMW 325i a few months ago. Recently, it has started cutting out all the sound except for the subs. So all of the mids and tweeters in my car cut out, all at once, but the subs continue to work properly. I cant identify any good reason for this to be happening. There seems to be no pattern, and /sometimes/ if I brake pretty hard (especially on inclines) it will cut back on. Ive checked all the wire connections in the back of the head unit, and they are all still intact. I pulled the head unit out, and it appaears to be clean, and there are not blatent problems. Any help would be appreciated.

You could have a connection problem somewhere other than at the Head unit. Check your connections at the speakers. And everywhere in between. lolUNLABELED Custom Car Club President

Well, that is what I thought, but since the speakers hook up independantly to the head unit, one speaker connection wouldnt be the case. It has to be something common between them all...

The amplifier section is rated down to a 4-ohm per channel load.  What is the impedance of the speakers you are using?  Using too low will shut down the amps.  Plus, any one speaker shorting out or grounding will also shut down all the output channels. Support the12volt.com
