Hey guys, installing a r/s into my wife's 2007 GMC Acadia next weekend, the actual wiring and bypass looks very straight forward, but i was wondering more about the panels and how hard they are to remove to gain access to the wiring. Have not yet had a chance to take a close look at this. any tricks, suggestions or help on the panels would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance

An easy install with the proper bypass  interface. The dash panel pops down easy and the 3 piece column shroud is no problem. Do yourself a favor and leave that funky roll top desk style panel that moves up and down with the steering column. It's a real pain to get out....

The wheel telescopes in and out, remember that when your'e taking it apart.  It makes it alot easier.  You can get some or all of your ignition wires down lower by the BCM too.

We had a problem with an acadia where we got the wires at the bcm and the system did not work.  I then looked at the instruction manual and found that it states to connect all your wires at the cylinder.

There are ALOT of wires the same color as your looking for down the bottom at the BCM.  You have to MAKE SURE you have the correct wires.  They tell you to connect at the cylinder so it's easier to identify the correct wires.

But youi have to extend the wires reaally long to get all the way up there , and still allow the wheel to tilt up and down and in and out.  Theres ALOT of mov ement there, and alot of sharp edges, and turns in the harness.  Not like most cars.

Take your time with the next one, identify the wires at the top, all the way down to the BCM and write it down, and save it.  It'll make the next ones alot easier.
