years ago (late 80's - early 90's) we installed a black box from Alpine that did this... i know Valet (DEI) had a Car Comm unit that did this as well but again i haven't seen it in any dealer catalogues of late... just check on the starter companies websites to see who offers a unit like this anymore.....

DEI make something called Callguard, does what your customer wants, don't know if it's sold in the US though.

Audiovox CL100 can be hard to find, and they've done a poor job of marketing it. It's crude and simple but it works. You call a 1-800 number, put in a password, and you can start or unlock the car.
(They do sell some sort of adapter to use their CL100 with non-Audiovox remote starters. Good luck finding it though.)
Viper has something brand new....I think it's called Smart Start. Google it, you'll find it easily. Customer needs an iPhone and a Viper remote starter. Not cheap but really cool.
Autopage has something called C3 that's supposed to be even better than the Viper setup, but I don't know much about it.

Omega has the GPS-D4500 (but not sure if it is shipping yet), similar to the CL100 as Chris describes
The older Omega model that can be used is the GPS-D4

A little off topic, but you could pretty much say that about EVERYTHING Audiovox produces. Well-engineered products with a ton of features - and almost no one knows it because their sales literature and technical documents do such a p***-poor job.

Agree with you 100%. 10 years ago Code had the UK market sewn up then Clifford trashed them with better marketing and dealer support.
