I am trying to install a remote start/alarm on my magnum and I am using the DB-CHDL7P2  bypass module and I have a couple of questions.

1. Are you able to program the module if you are using 2 different keys (intergrated remote/transponder)? They both work with the vehicle.

2. If the answer to the above is yes, when programming the module is the module suppose to light up or just the security light on the vehicle?

3. The directions for the bypass want me to connect its starter wire parallel to the vehicle starter wire and the remote starter wire, am I suppose to cut the vehicles wire and connect one end to the bypass and the other to the remote start?

Can someone please help me if you have any experience with this module and vehicle. I worked on this all day with no luck, I bought this particular bypass because I thought it would save me alot of time.

Yes, you will need both of these keys.

Look at the instructions for programming. Usually you have to look at BOTH the LED on the Magnum as well as the programming LED on the module

No, just tap into the starter wire, if you cut it you will not have control over the starter witht he key.

I have done all these things and I haven't had any luck.  I am unable to program the module, and I believe that is why I am unable to see if anything else works. Do you know what my problem may be with programming? I have looked at both lights and neither have done what the directions state. Thanks for the response!

To see if the chip is properly programmed, remote start the vehicle and just put the key up against the key sylinder ( not in the cylinder just beside ). If the vehicle starts fine, then you know that the wiring is good for the ignition and accessories, just the Sentry chip is not programmed. What I usually do is remove the module's casing from the board so you can see the chip. Place the chip right against the cylinder at this point and go through the programming sequence. Once you think the chip is programmed, take the empty OEM FOB with the key and turn the vehicle over with the chip & board against the key cylinder. If it's programmed, the car will start, if not, the LED will flash rapidly and will only crank, but not start.

I will try that out to see if that works, but I am still having a problem with the final installation, thats because I didn't know if it was programmed or not.

Ok, I got everything hooked up. My lights flash, blower comes on, and doors lock, but i can not get it to remote start. When i try to remote start the the dash comes on and the blower kicks on but when it trys to start it doesn't do anything. The engine dosen't turn at all. I have tried the the 180 ohm resistor w/ relay and still nothing.  Does anyone have any ideas as to what wires I may have crossed or hooked up incorrectly? I am using a DB-CHDL7P2 bypass kit. Any help is greatly appreciated!

It comes on then goes off just as if the key was inserted.
