replacing the factory hu in an 08 sebring

Hello, I traded in my truck and got a 2008 Chrysler Sebring with the 6 speaker set up.  I have been looking to replace the factory head unit but I am having difficulty finding a mounting kit as well as a wiring harness.  Will I need some special type of harness?  I do not think that my stereo has a factory amplifier but Im not sure.  I looked in the trunk under my 6x9 mounting locations but dont see one.  Any suggestions on where to get the mounting or wiring kits would be great.  I also know that a lot of problems can come up when replacing the hu in newer vehicles so any input on that would be greatly appreciated as well.-under_lucky-

Scosche has the antenna adaptor and the installation kit. PAC makes the wiring interface for this car. Also, Metra makes the wire harness as well as the kits.Jeff

Jeff, Thanks I was able to find wiring harness's but I am now slightly confused... Can the second be used? Will I lose things if it can be? Im not really concerned with any functions the factory radio has.-under_lucky-

From the description of the links above, the first link is a CANBUS interface ( which is the one that you need ) and the  other link is for a standard harness, which  will not work because the radio is a CANBUS radio.Jeff

What is a CANBUS radio?-under_lucky-

Hmmm... so this means that using a standard harness like the one above is not possible? Would you lose things if you did, will it even work if you did? I appreciate all the help.-under_lucky-

j.j... Please keep this post informed of what you figure out about the harness situation!? I am in the final stages of getting the equipment together to put a 5.2 theater in my girls 08 Sebring. fatalli I will def be sure to let you know. It will be a little bit though because I am also in the process of getting a different amp and I want to get the interior speakers in the car replaced too. Unfortunately this all costs money and Im not Bill Gates lol.-under_lucky-

If your not going to be using the OEM speakers and installing a 4 cahnnel amp, then you do not need to buy the expensive harness. You do not need to buy any harness in fact. Just run the constant and the switched to the fuse panel and ground to the frame. Run new wires from the 4 channel amp to the new speakers and call it a day. It's more labor intensive, but costs less money especially if your not going to retain the OEM speakers or wiring.Jeff
