HI EVERYONE
I have a prostart remote starter and I want to install it on cavalier 2005 and I need bypass unit for anti theft. I have seen on internet with instruction how to bypass and purchase of OEM bypass module is not required.
Any info and is this practical?
Thanks mike

Have you ever installed a remote start before?  That's not the best "first time" car (unless you are like me and have really small hands!)

To answer your question though, I would always go with a manufactured unit over a home built unit.  Typically, home solutions involve soldering small resistors inline though a relay.  Small resistors, if not isntalled properly, can break causing the car not to start.  For the $30 or so it's worth it to get something reliable.

Go get the PLJX from bypass kit, it's simple to connect and program and it works good...
