Alright I have some problems with this unit.   I have a 97 chevy c/k1500. I wired the smart windows unit to the driver and passenger windows at the drivers switch.  Heres my problem, I hooked it up.  All wires correctly as far as I can tell. (double checked everything)  I plug the unit in and hit the drivers window on the switch. (not the alarm remote but the window switches)  Window rolls up, hit the down button... works fine.  Next I hit the passenger window, up and down both work fine.   I think everything is fine, I go to roll both windows down at the same time to program the smart windows via cliffnet because it says to start with the windows down and I get nothing.  I check the fuse and the 30 amp is blown. I replaced it and everything works again till I hit both switches at once.  Fuse goes again. So I try a 40 amp fuse instead, everything works fine.  So I plug my lap top in and start programing.  Well I must have hit the wrong button up cause somehow during the process my passenger window switch gets reversed. (down is now up, up is down)  Remember It worked properly at first, no connections were changed, only thing different was I was programming them with cliffnet.  Well at this point I cant get them to program properly according to the directions.  There supposed to vent slightly when done and mine were all the way down.  so I start playing with the switches on the door and the divers is working fine but my passenger is totally screwed up. Moving in short increments in the wrong directions and what not.  Next thing I know the smartwindows is smoking and the units toast. (smoke, plastic melting)   So at this point im at a loss, the connections all have to be correct because they wouldn't have worked in the first place correct? Did i just screw up in the programing sequence and is it possible that could kill the unit.  Like I said I don't get how the passenger window all of a sudden went from working properly to being reversed with absolutely NO connections changing.  sorry for the long post I just really need some assistance.  thanks in advance

Well now that you fried the Smart-Windows module, try getting a 529T window roll-up module (Directed Electronics). I've installed this unit in many vehicles with no problems, all you do is wire it up and there's nothing to program,  it automatically shuts off when the windows have reached their full travel mode.

If I have an idea, and you have an idea and we share ideas, then we each have two Ideas, together we have four.

Dont use the 529T. Use the 530T.
