Im about to get paid and i wanna know what the best sub i can get for around 150. Im looking for spl over sq, but still keep a little bit sq. dont want it to sound like trash. I have an alpine mrp-500 watt amp. i can build the box and everything. i just wanna hear everybodys suggestions

I would look into the AudioQue SDC2.5s.

it dont really matter. if i can get something real good for 150 used then i will or something good for new i will. offer up on the used

They are more designed for SPL. The recommended enclosure is going to be higher tuned for additional loudness. Also, if you read on their site you can tell they are more of a loudness focused company than SQ. You will still get some decent SQ so it won't sound like a loud mess or anything like that.

The W6, IMO is more a SQ woofer. All the JL stuff is. While certainly capable in the SPL department, it won't be as loud as the suggested AudioQues
