I have a 2010 Subaru Forester.  I would like to run an Alpin PDX-5 amp I have to power the doors.  It's 75W RMS X 4 and I intend to mount it under the passenger seat. Will it be safe to wire the output to the stock speaker wires behind the head unit? I'd rather not run all new speaker wires.  I realize there is probably a theorhetical sound quality degradation, but I'm more concerned about is it safe?  I can handle some SQ dropoff, but I can't handle a fire hazard.

You will not start a fire.  And you would probably not hear a difference even if you  ran 12 Gauge wire to the speakers.

its a 2010, all the wiring is NEW on your vehicle. No reason to replace it.

I'm liking what I'm hearing.  I know the wires are all in good shape being new, but I wasn't clear if the heating caused by shoving 75W through the small factory wires would be a problem in terms of melting and burning especially where they're all bunched up in the harness.

Sounds like so far the concensus is it's not a concern.

The concensus is not going to change.  Git yer install done.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
