Is it possible to replace the factory "horn-sounding" device connected to my vehicle's keyless entry system with an alarm-type siren?  I have a 2002 Mercury Cougar.  I tried an alarm install (a few times), but the brain keeps frying and the dealership won't replace it again.  I took it to three install shops here in Germany and they can't figure out what's wrong either.  But the keyless has many alarm-type functions; it just has this cheesy horn-thing.  Any ideas?

That's because most factory keyless entry/alarm systems are tied into the vehicles horn. I don't think it's possible to add a siren to a factory system.

if you can get to the horn check the wire(s. see if you have a positive or neg output......
you can then try to add a siren. you may need a relay....
i think that horn is in the rear quarter panel. might be on the pass. side
Good Luck
