I have a 2006 ford Taurus , installed a 160vx viper remote start, when testing wires on brake light switch all wires are + when pedal is pushed. Anyone know what i need to do to hook wire on remote start to brake switch. I was wandering if i go back further on the brake wire if it changes to - . Thanks

There must be a wire that changes state unless it's data controlled, then you would have to look past the processor! Which i doubt!

the brake wire on a 06 taurus is red with light green stripe. it will test 12volts only when the pedal is pushed. thats the wire you want to connect to

Play safe, one wire should be at 12v+, the other (s) will change state as t&t says. If you're not sure, ascertain the colour at the rear and trace it forward to a floor edge/kick panel and pick it up there. The only vehicles I can think of using data at the brake switch itself are 98 on BMWs

Just looked at directechs, it's RED / light green at the brake switch.Revise your testing procedure.

Thanks for the help, turns out there are two switches on the brake pedal and of course i picked the wrong one. It was a RED / green wire.
