What wire did you use?   What model is the remote start unit?

i used the wire from ignition coil/ distributor coil, tan/green. and the remote module is a carvox setup like viper. has a purple and white tach wire. i have used this unit muti of times so i know it by hart and is a good unit.  i even changed out the brain and replaced it with a new one and it did the same thing so i know its something from the car causin the issue

Audiovox shows a Tan / YELLOW wire as the tach wire of your vehicle.  It is located on the ICM Ignition Control Module.

If you got that info from a site that you trust, it is probably correct.  It is logical for an 8 cylinder vehicle to have 4 coils.  Audiovox lists only one of the four.  I know some remote start units have adjustments for the tach voltage.  Have you checked for this in the manual?
