PLease! need help!
Going to install aftermarket stereo in truck for christmas gift but amplifier has stopped working. is equipped with bose stereo and was told that even if i change stereo it will still use the factory amplifier which doesn't work!!! is there an easier way to make this happen without rewiring the whole truck???!! would like to utilize the amplifier in the aftermarket stereo..... thanks!

If the amplifier is not working, you will have to bypass the amp, or get it repaired.   What are the chances that a drink got spilled into the center console?

It may be easier to repair the amp than it will be to bypass it.  The amp is probably located under the center console.  All os the speaker wires of the vehicle are connected to the amp.

ya i believe the amp is under the console.... i dont think anything was spilled on it but what would be the best way to test the amp to see if thats in fact why the stereo isnt functioning
theres power to the stereo it turns on but just static nothing else has changed it just got progressively worse from sound w/static gradually to just static only

Does the static come from all speakers, or just one of them?  Does the balance and fader affect which speakers make the noise?

Try hooking up the deck. I've seen it where the factory deck has just gone bad causing similar symptoms. Bad thing is though if you do end up bypassing the bose amp pos you'll likely run into impedance issues with the factory bose speakers. They often times, are 2 ohm impedance, which an aftermarket deck alone will not last long running.
A DMM is a beautiful thing.
