Got all the primary wires hooked up on the relays of the buick park ave. It's a valet 561r. I used a relay and a resistor for the bypass. I can still start it with the key but cannot get it to stay running with the remote. When I hit the remote i will get one light flash, the system powers up, dash lights go on, and the starter will crank, and it will run for 2 seconds maybe less. I don't have a tach wire hooked up yet though. I was just going to use the voltage monitor.

Alos, the LED doesn't work, i tried to reprogram the LED to turn on with the remote, according to the instructions, but that doesn't work either. I don't know what the settings are because this is a used start that came out of another vehicle.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hook up tach and program it.

I agree with zerepdivad.
You could try to find your way into the programming menu and set the unit for voltage sensing mode, which wouldn't require you to connect the tach wire.
But, an older car like that is going to work much more reliably with tach hooked up, and also, it'll take you less time and energy to hook up tach than to figure out the programming if you haven't done it before.
1. Hook up tach.
2. "Learn" tach rate to remote starter by doing the following: Start engine with key. Push and hold valet/programming button. Observe that LED on 561R comes on steady. Turn engine off. Done.
P.S. Your VATS bypass must be good, because if it were bad, the car wouldn't start at all.
