I am thinking about buying a jl audio 500.1 slash v2 amp for my subs.(2 re audio 12's 300 watts rms 4ohm dvc) . The specs for the amp say that it is 500x1@1.5-4ohms, I dont understand how it can be 500 watts rms at 1.5 ohms and at 4ohms? can someone please explain . also i think i can pick this up for around 260 is that a good price?

1: Good amp.
2: The power supply in the amplifier is "smart", it is only designed to make that much power, whatever the load attached. It's right.
3: Sounds like a good deal, IF there is a warranty.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

That amp is terrific. Personally though... I'd be a little weary of purchasing a used amp, unless you know the previous owner. Was it beat to death, under powered...?
