Folks, please help!

Viper Remote Start 2002 Explorer

The only wire that it looks like I cannot "t" into, and which I have to cut and put through the satellite relay are the ignition wire and starter wire. I don't want to cut this wire if I do not have to. Please can someone clarify?

  • Which "ignition" wire should I connect to, Ignition1 or Ignition2?
  • Also, what is the physical location of the Door lock wire?
  • What wire would I use to control the heat and where is it located?

Thanks please and thanks again!

Peace

the only ignition wire you should have to cut is the starter wire, you dont need to cut any ignition wires.

use the RED / green ignition 1 wire. the blower motor and HVAC are controlled by the GREEN/ light green accessory wire, you will need to power it as well. your remote start has a second ignition output, so go ahead and use it and power the second ignition, it cant hurt, the more wires you power and are able to mimic just as the switch does the better anyway.

look for the door lock wires in the driver side kick panel.

Thank you. I get ALMOST everything you say here and especially now I understand about the Starter wire.

With regard to the Accessory connection I don't understand exactly what you mean by this:

the blower motor and HVAC are controlled by the GREEN/ light green accessory wire (I get this but this is where I get lost...), "you will need to power it as well. your remote start has a second ignition output, so go ahead and use it and power the second ignition"

What does the HVAC /blower motor controls have to do with the second ignition wire coming off of the high voltage relay of the Viper? Do you mean connect this second ignition wire to that wire in the harness and it will power and control that HVAC/Blower ?

Sorry if it sounds dumb.

the GREEN/ light green wire in the explorer needs to be powered up, it powers the HVAC controls. use the accessory output from the viper for this. also go ahead and power the second ignition wire in the ignition wire harness. use the ignition 2 output from the viper to do this.
